About

Hi, I'm Mica- Founder of The ACL Motive.

I was born and raised in a rural town in Oregon and spent most of my life in the Pacific Northwest. I'm married to my best friend, Will, and we share our lives with two dogs, Luck and Nova. My journey to becoming a physical therapist has been deeply personal, driven by my own experiences with ACL injuries—too many, unfortunately.

During my ACL rehabs, I didn't have access to sport-specific physical therapy. Instead, I found myself in a small clinic at the edge of town, surrounded by my wonderful but much older neighbors. While I learned a lot about their lives, it wasn’t the care I needed as an athlete. At 6 months post-op, I returned to the soccer field terrified—and worse, I wasn’t the player I once was. I had lost my speed, my confidence, and, in many ways, I had lost myself. I even had to switch positions because I couldn’t perform like I used to.

That experience of feeling ill-prepared and disconnected from my athletic identity fueled my passion to make sure others don’t go through the same. My PT at the time inspired me, and despite my circumstances, I decided to pursue a career in physical therapy so I could help athletes like me come back stronger, not just physically, but mentally too.

Mission

I’ve noticed a serious gap in ACL rehab, and it’s causing far too many people to experience setbacks. Each year, re-tear rates keep rising—and this is because the system is failing ACLers. Insurance companies are pushing providers to “clear” people just 3-6 months after surgery. Why? Because they decide you’re no longer medically necessary, and you’re expected to “figure it out” with a generic plan.

But here’s the thing: ACL rehab isn’t one-size-fits-all. Your plan needs to evolve as you hit each milestone. The system's failure is driving people to social media to patch together their own recovery plans. Where does this leave you? Frustrated. Prolonging your recovery. At risk of re-injury. And that’s not OK.

Our mission at The ACL Motive is to help you re-write your ACL story. We’re here to elevate the standard of care for all ACLers. We aim to help you unlock your potential today, tomorrow, and for the rest of your life. No guesswork—just data-driven plans that put you on the path to becoming the best version of yourself.

Vision

Our vision is to revolutionize ACL rehab—

to ensure that ACL injuries don’t become a recurring norm for athletes or active individuals. Our goal is simple: to redefine ACL rehab so that ACL injuries become a thing of the past, and individuals can return to their sports and activities stronger than ever before.
